My personal favourite sushi restaurant in JB - wish they had more outlets! Great variety on the menu, and extremely good value for the high quality of sushi you get. Service is very good, though can be a bit slow if they’re crowded. (They are very popular on the weekend) Environment is quite nice (if a bit cold at times).

Was very impressed with the food and service! When we arrived there was a small queue but they were quick to give us a table. Staff was very friendly and we enjoyed all our food and drinks. The sashimi was fresh and everything else was good! I would recommend the sashimi and tempura to name a few items. We spent so much that we were able to join membership at the end of the night. Will definitely be back.

Sushi Zento is a classy Japanese restaurant situated in Mount Austin. You will definitely pass by it while exploring the area :) Ambience, cleanliness and hospitality are top notch. The menu consists of a diverse variety of food from sushi, creative rolls, to teppanyaki, ramens and donburis so you will definitely be spoilt for choice. Price point may be a little high, but justified for the quality and comfort you get. Definitely enjoyed my visit there.

Decently good Jap spot Tried the wagyu don, salmon don, salmon and maguro sashimi and tempura set and kakiage. The works, to check out if the 3 main stars of a Japanese meal (to me) meet my standards. The sashimi comes in fresh thick cuts and makes for a nice chewy mouthful. However the cuts were of mid range quality but for the price point, acceptable. The dons were generally decent. The wagyu is again the mid range cuts. Fried kungfu? Above average as well. The tempura was crispy, just a tad oily. The batter used was mild, which goes well not to overshadow the main ingredients such as the ebi. The ebi is fresh and firm to the bite. You know that the ebi tempura is well executed when you can easily chew through the tail as well. Kakiage is done with a slightly different batter. Again not overly flavoured, so the taste of the vegetable strips came through quite well. Dons were above average as well. The grilled shitake unfortunately was a little too salty for my liking. Service is welcoming, and responsive. Ambience is nice for chilling and conversations. Not overly noisy, lit for comfort and relaxation with nice decor. Will return again to try the other dishes from the super extensive menu.

We visited this place around 9 pm and were informed that the last order would be at 9:30 pm. Given the time constraint, we quickly browsed the menu and placed our order. Despite choosing the dishes randomly based on the pictures, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the food tasted great.

Overall good food. Very relaxed and chill environment. Had this 3 weeks back on a Friday night. Would’ve been 5 star if I wasn’t annoyed by the constant staff eagerness to clear our table plates even when we’re not finished (just because we left it there for a while). We had to stop the guy (closing time was only 2 hours away btw). I wasn’t even at the place for more than 1 hour at that point in time! Weird KPI set by the branch manager I suppose.
